JCP Full Pricing Guide

Heya, I’m Jonathan!

I’m a documentary wedding photographer dedicated to the craft of capturing emotional, exciting and extraordinary moments of couples in love.

I live in Perth with my two dogs - Bullet, the cowardly corgi, and Jazzy, his big bully of a sister.

How I approach my work

The best images come from moments that are unscripted and unrehearsed. This is what I’m always looking for, a gesture, a glance, something unplanned – which reveals everything. That’s why I use a photojournalistic approach in my wedding photography – capturing couples as they go, and not lining everyone up for tedious photo taking sessions. I find that what works best is when couples shake their nerves and just go with the flow – that way, I can capture truly authentic moments.

I’d love to work with you, wherever you’re thinking of getting married, finding the perfect way to tell the story of your wedding day.

Most of all, I want to produce work that tells stories, that leaves people wondering, that makes people feel something. I want to take photos that move people, that tickle their funny bone or tug at their heartstrings. Work that is emotional and endures forever.

$300

Additional hours

The indicated price is per hour. Up to a maximum of 12 hours.

$600

Engagement session

Engagement sessions are perfect for settling any pre-wedding jitters and capturing your unique couple chemistry. That’s why they are included as standard in all my wedding packages. Or, if you’re not sure yet whether we’re a good fit, an adventure session is the perfect way to try things out without comitting to booking a full wedding first.

$350

2nd photographer (for prep only)

For when you’re getting ready separately and too far apart. I do not recommend this though as I find that I usually get the best photos for the rest of the day when I have time to get to know the bridal party for both sides during prep.

$700

2nd Photographer (all day)

For those big hectic weddings with lots of things happening at once.

$1,500

11x14 Fine Art Album (20 spreads)

Nothing tells the story of your wedding quite like an album. A wedding album is a time-honoured way of preserving your memories that is yet to be surpassed. You’ll treasure it for years and it will always be on hand to remind you and others of your love.

$90

Additional spread for 11x14 Album

The indicated price is per spread. Each spread has two pages.

FAQ

  • We’re both really awkward in front of the camera. Will we be fine?

Absolutely! Some people are naturally confident, but it’s silly to expect everyone to be the same. Like anything, when things become more familiar, they become easier. It’s why I include a complimentary engagement session in all of my wedding packages. This is a chance for you to hang out, have fun and get used to the camera being around. After this you’ll be so accustomed to having your photo taken that you will be complete naturals once your big day rolls around.

  • We hate posing for photos. Is that going to be a problem?

No problem at all. I don’t like long posing sessions either beca use the results a ren’t as na tural. While I might move you guys around a bit to make sure we catch the light, most of the time I’ll focus on documenting your wedding as it unfolds.

  • Do you shoot with a second shooter?

I prefer to work solo because it allows me to move more freely. However, if you’re having a really big wedding, I would recommend that you book an additional photographer.

  • Are your packages able to be personalised?

Everything is customisable. We can go through all your options when we meet up, so you can find one that fits you best.

  • How much coverage do you think I’ll need?

For a typical wedding, 8 hours is usually sufficient to cover everything, as long as none of the locations are too far apart. This will cover everything from your preparations up until half an hour into your dance party at the reception. If you require additional hours, I’m sure we can work something out.

  • Do we really need to do family photos?

I know, I know. It’s the one part of the day where you’ll have to herd cats (or that uncle Jimmy who’s way too keen to get started on the open bar) and stand around smiling for the shot list. But trust me, they’ll love you for it. Photos of your family members reinforce familial bonds and are an important record for your relatives to keep.

  • Do we need to feed you?

Yes, But I’m not a fussy eater and will be happy to share food at the same time as the rest of your guests. Running around all day taking photos is hard work, so food is important to maintain my energy levels.

  • How will you be delivering the photos?

You’ll receive them via an online gallery that you can share with your friends and family. I deliver them

in both Web Resolution - that’s optimised for social media sharing, and Hi Resolution that’s optimised for printing.

  • How long do you take to deliver the photos?

I usually take between 6-8 weeks to get all your photos to you. While that may seem long, it’s due to the fact I like to invest time in perfecting each photo.

  • How many photos will we get?

I’m a big believer in quality over quantity, so I don’t like to guarantee a minimum number of photos. However, from past experiences you can probably expect around 400-600 for a typical 8-hour wedding, and around 30-50 for a typical 1-hour engagement session.

  • We are thinking of having our wedding further afield, do you travel?

I love travelling and I’ll be happy to document your love story anywhere in the world. Of course, I’ll need to charge extra to cover expenses, but don’t let that stop you - overseas weddings are amazing. Let’s catch up and work out the details. That’s what I’d usually say pre-COVID, but until everything normalises again, I’d only travel within Western Australia so that we both don’t have to stress out about finding a replacement should any unforeseen border closures happen.

  • Can we meet up first, so I can see if we will work well together?

Certainly. We’re going to spend a lot of time together on your wedding day so it’s important that we are the right fit. I’m happy to catch up and if you like the cut of my jib then it should be smooth sailings from there.

  • Ok I’m convinced! How do we book?

Great! Call or email and let’s get started.

  • Unfortunately, you’re out of our budget – can you still help?

I’d be happy to! Let me know your budget and what you’re after and I’ll refer you to someone who’ll be a perfect fit for you.
